We’ve always known Raleigh was a special place. And now, as Raleigh and the Triangle area continues to rank on national top ten lists in every category from living to education to economic growth, it is evident to everyone else, too.
As Raleigh natives, we’ve experienced first-hand Raleigh and the Triangle region’s evolution over the past 25+ years. The progress is inspiring, and the combination of sophistication with the local flair of southern charm is what makes the area so appealing.
Every facet of Raleigh has its own distinct style and nuance, providing a diverse spectrum of offerings to suit even the most particular interests.
Whether you are considering buying a home, selling a home, investing in property, seeking property management, or simply becoming familiar with favorite Raleigh hideaways and neighborhood haunts, we are here to help.
We grew up in Raleigh, but even though we both attended elementary school at Lacy and middle school at Daniels, our paths didn’t cross until we began our professional careers in real estate. For the first eight years of our careers, we worked for separate prestigious, independent real estate firms in Raleigh that have since merged with larger national brokerage firms. We missed the boutique approach to real estate and wanted to provide our clients the personalized service, advantages, and overall experience that an independent real estate firm offers.
And so Dogwood Properties was born. We collaborate on each and every property as a team. By doing so, we have combined our capabilities and are able to fully serve our clients better than we ever could as individual brokers. The commonality that truly brought us together was our deep appreciation for the importance of forging personal connections and trust with clients. We realize how important a comfortable, transparent relationship is for buyers and sellers when going through the process with their brokers. And that’s the kind of experience we want every one of our clients to have.
For us, there’s no definitive separation between our careers as brokers and our day to day lives. Rather, we are deeply involved in our community and believe in contributing to its positive future growth.
Some of our affiliations and highlights of participation in community-based initiatives both past and present include:
- Active member in the Vestry of Christ Church
- Active member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church
- Chair of the Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network for Christ Church
- Fundraising team member for the We Build People campaign of the YMCA
- Volunteer basketball program varsity coach at Broughton High School
- Current mentor for the Neighbor 2 Neighbor program
- Former committee member with Ducks Unlimited
- Former board member of Museum of History Young Associates
- Former member of the Board of Trustees at Virginia Episcopal High School
From a young age, Courtney understood and appreciated the importance of both the process and the transition that come with buying or selling a home. Courtney was born in Massachusetts and, between many other moves as a military family, lived in North Carolina for a brief period before eventually returning for college. Courtney decided to pursue her interest in real estate as an undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and became licensed while earning her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. After graduation, Courtney spent several years in government contracting in Virginia and gained small business experience across many departments from human resources to business development. Courtney’s passion for real estate and love for the Tar Heel state led her to Raleigh where she joined Dogwood to begin her career as a broker. In addition to exploring the various areas of the Triangle, Courtney loves traveling within the US and abroad, visiting with family and enjoying delicious meals and crafty cocktails at locally owned restaurants. Courtney brings dedication, enthusiasm, responsiveness and a positive outlook to all her clients and transactions and views it as an honor to be a professional part of each client’s journey.
